Ep.70- 5 REASONS THIS BARBERSHOP IN A WEWORK IS MY L.A. FAVORITE

Finding a good barbershop is not an easy task, as so many things can make it a terrible experience: the wait, the parking, the cost, or even worse, the haircut itself.
In the past year, I’ve tried a number of barbershops in L.A and have been disappointed every time. But this time is different. I randomly stumbled upon a new barbershop, the Bord Room in Playa Vista and it’s exceeded my expectation on all levels. Here is why.
REASON 1: DOPE LOCATION. IT’S IN A WEWORK OFFICE
The first thing about the Bord room is that it’s located in a WeWork. It is such a smart idea. If you work in an office park or a corporate campus, you know you’d appreciate on-site amenities such as, massage services, parking lot car washes, and grooming services. It’s especially convenient for those who already work in the WeWork building.
As a visitor who does not work in the building, it’s still pretty convenient as you don’t have to worry about looking or paying for parking. You can park in the same garage and the barbershop validates it for you.
In case you have to wait a little bit, their WeWork lounge beats every single barbershop waiting area I’ve been to.
REASON 2: EXCELLENT EXCELLENT HAIRCUT
The quality of my haircut is excellent in my opinion. I enjoyed Alberto’s attention to detail and the quality is definitely above-par, worth the price.
This barbershop is hip, new and small, with only 2 chairs. It is absolutely in the barbershop’s incentive to drive repeat customers through quality haircuts and extra services. Hands down, my experience and my haircut reflect it 100%.
REASON 3: GREAT SERVICE AND EXTRA AMENITIES
This barbershop definitely differentiates itself through service and amenities. When I walked in, the owner offered me a drink. When I saw they had a game system, Alberto, the barber, even offered to play some video games. At the time, I didn’t need a drink nor had the time to play some videos games. But it was nice they offered.
Speaking of amenities, two things stood out: their free bar and their eucalyptus scented cold towel. There’s a bar where you can get complimentary drinks. If you don’t need a drink, they also have espresso and flavored water. In addition, they also use the eucalyptus scented cold towel for their $45 haircut, which reminds me of Equinox services, basically just extra, in a good way.
REASON 4: COMPETITIVE PRICING (EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT AVAILALBE)
The price at the Bord Room is competitive. A standard no-frill haircut costs $30. If you want the bougie treatment, with shampoo, a hot towel, a cold towel with eucalyptus scent, and a quick massage, go for the Signature Haircut, which would run you $45.
There are two discounts to make it significantly more affordable.

REASON 5: ONLINE BOOKING IS ONE SMOOTH EXPERIENCE
I personally prefer online booking over making a phone call. If you feel the same way, you are in luck.
You can book an appointment from their website, which I did. It was one smooth experience as I didn’t have to talk to anyone, and the automated online system provided me with detailed directions to their location, which was helpful because I would’ve missed the turn.
TL;DR
The Bord Room is currently my favorite barbershop in L.A, for it excellent haircut, and the quality service. Perhaps next time I will get a drink and play some video games before getting a haircut. Why not right?
